Flying into Key West and unsure about ground transportation?

There’s plenty of affordable ride options at the Key West International Airport, whether you’re traveling with a group or arriving solo. If you’re concerned about connection issues, rest assured: free WiFi is available in the terminal building.

Here’s a look at your ground transportation options.

Local taxi services

Make your arrival to Key West seamless by using a local cab company. Most of the cab companies can accommodate large groups if you’re in town for a wedding or corporate travel. Here are some local agencies:

Key Lime Taxi - (305) 395-1385 See website.

Florida Keys Taxi - (305) 296-6666  See website.

Island Coaches - (305) 293-6860 See website.

Transportation network companies

If you’re used to requesting a ride from your phone, both Uber and Lyft offer services in Key West. Simply download the corresponding app and make sure your phone has enough juice after the flight. Be aware of price surging! When these services are being used at a higher volume (big events, etc.), rates increase.

Car rental

If you’re planning to take day trips outside of Key West, it makes sense to rent a car. If not, it’s a lot easier to rely on shuttle services at The Gates Hotel Key West to get around. Anyone will tell you that parking is a challenge on this little island. Here are some car rental services located at the airport:

Avis - (305) 296-8744. See website.

Budget - (305) 294-8868. See website.

Dollar - (305) 296-9921. See website.

Hertz - (305) 294-1039. See website.

Thrifty - (877) 283-0898. See website.

The Gates Hotel Key West is less than two miles from the airport, so we recommend taking a cab.

And in case you haven’t heard, escaping the cold just got easier! American Airlines announced the addition of non-stop flights to Key West from Philadelphia and Chicago beginning January 2019. United Airlines also recently announced that they’ll offer nonstop service from New Jersey’s Newark Liberty International Airport to Key West. Book your trip and enjoy a few days of “winter” in paradise.
