Treat Yourself: Wellness & Spa Options in KW

Treat Yourself: Wellness & Spa Options in KW

March 22nd, 2018 | Activities

Sometimes you have to be reminded to treat yourself, even while on vacation. At The Gates Hotel, we’re firm believers in relaxing, whether at the pool or around town. Slow down, leave the phone behind and give yourself some TLC. Looking for a day of wellness? Some time at the spa? Here’s what Key West has to ensure you’re getting that rest and relaxation you deserve.

If you’re looking to stretch out and make space, Yoga on the Beach holds classes every morning at Fort Zachary State Park, drop-ins welcome (fees start at $18). Aside from the morning session, they also offer classes around the island that change with the seasons, including onsite at the Sunset Green Event Lawn and aqua yoga. Check out their current schedule on their website.

There’s no greater gift you can give yourself on vacation than a massage and time at the spa. Key West has its options. Prana Spa offers different aroma therapies, massages and body polish services. Prana Spa is located at 625 Whitehead St. in Old Town, just a few blocks from the Hemingway House.

The Ocean Wellness Spa & Salon has a wide range of services from their team, including acupuncture, facials, massage, nail care and hair styling. The spa ranks favorably on Trip Advisor. A mani-pedi and massage will leave you feeling light and fresh for the rest of your stay in Key West.

Looking for more ways to disconnect and take it easy in Key West? Take a walk with the butterflies in the Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory. There’s over 50 butterfly species on the premises, as well as stunning flowers, waterfalls and trees. The conservatory is located near the Southernmost Point at 1316 Duval Street.

There are plenty of galleries around the island if you’re looking to take in some art and reset your mind. Check out Jorge de la Torriente’s art gallery in Old Town at 419 Duval Street. His beachscapes and specific point of view brings a certain kind of calm to the eye. Torriente’s art can also be found around The Gates -- keep a look out for it!

Don’t hesitate to treat yourself to the refreshing services offered in the Conch Republic -- a little bit of tender loving self-care goes a long way.
